Advanced Open Water Class Schedule

The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to provide the novice diver with an enjoyable, well supervised means to gain the practical experience needed after initial certification,  To accomplish its goal, the advanced course enables students to participate in various underwater tasks that broaden both their awareness of their environment and their capabilities as divers. 

The course is designed to be simple and short, and to stress practical participation more than theory.  The PADI Adventures in Diving manual must be read and the "Knowledge Reviews" for each of the following dives, completed before beginning the course.

The course consists of five open-water dives in which students are oriented to the following activities;

  • Night Diving
  • Deep diving
  • Underwater Navigation
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Search and Recovery

Besides being extremely fun, this course is the first step to many specialty courses.  These include specific areas such as Underwater Videography, Ice Diving, Search and Recovery, Wreck Diving and more.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent.  Completed medical and liability and release forms.

Cost: $150.00 plus rental if needed and $39.95 for text book. Minimum age is 15.
