Recent Trips

February 21st - March 1st, 2020
Bonaire has a reputation for sunny and warm weather and this year it lived up to expectations. Maybe it was this kind of thinking that caused the trip to fill up by early September. We had a diverse group of 20 people, each contributing their own unique energy to the overall experience. Our 17 divers represented a wide range of diving experience, from those with less than ten dives on up to some with several thousand. Like all MSD trips this wide range of experience was embraced by everyone.. the newer divers appreciated the insight of those more experienced, while the "salty" divers were still able to do their own thing but may have also recaptured a sense of the initial thrill of diving through the exuberance of others. In addition to the 10 boat dives that were scheduled, many other dive opportunities were taken advantage of: Night dives and morning transitional dives were organized off of the resort pier; rental trucks were used to access many of the shore dive sites; and certification dives for the advanced and specialty classes were also conducted.

Roatan & Utila
January 12th - 27th, 2018
Our international trips this year were both to Honduras. First was a week in Roatan, followed by an additional add on week in neighboring Utila. Both weeks were filled with phenomenal people, great dives, amazing food and many memories. Getting to sit within spitting distance of the ocean at West End Roatan's Blue Bar and watch the MN Vikings win the divisional championship, is something that everyone will remember - especially since the bar owners were the worlds biggest Saint fans. Later though, we did have to suffer through the tremendous butt-kicking of our beloved Vikings courtesy of the Eagles, while we were chlling at Buccaneers with Eddie in Utila. We use the convenient and cost effective Utila Dream ferry between Roatan and Utila. Most won't forget our exciting "tuk tuk" rides around quaint Utila.
Roatan - We dove with Native Sons and stayed at Splash Inn.
Utila - We dove with Alton's Dive Center and stayed at Lighthouse Hotel.

Caye Caulker, Belize

February 27 - March 7th 2015

An adventuresome group of MSD divers experienced Caye Caulker for the first time as an MSD dive trip destination! Everyone was extremely pleased with the lodging, dive operation and our interaction with the locals. The motto of Caye Caulker is "Go Slow" and our group readily embraced this mind-set. The island is so laidback, that there was only three modes of transportation - walking by foot, pedaling bikes or splurging with golf cart taxis. Our dives sites were scattered around Ambergris Caye, Long Caye and Turneffe Atoll. Many green morays, nurse and reef sharks, and spotted eagle rays were observed. The group consensus for favorite dives were the two we did out on Turneffe.

January 31st - February 7th, 2015

A wonderful group of divers helped MSD celebrate it's 20th year of visiting the fantastic reefs of Cozumel. Troy and Alex from Pelagic Ventures once again escorted us on our dives to the Palancar Reef sites and also on a night dive at Chankanaab Reef. Many a fun night was also enjoyed in town dining at all of MSD's favorite restaurants.

Next planned return to Cozumel is January of 2017

Truk Lagoon and Palau

December 1 - 18, 2014

Seven lucky divers got to experience a wonderful part of the world. The group was in Truk Lagoon for seven days of diving with Blue Lagoon Dive Shop, on old WWII shipwrecks including the 200 ft deep San Francisco Maru and 180 ft. deep Hoki Maru. After the awesome memories made there, the group then flew from Truk Lagoon to Palau. Once in Palau the seven divers enjoyed five days of diving hosted by Sam's Tours, on the phenomenal reefs of Palau. A couple highlights of the Palau portion of the trip, were snorkeling with millions of Jellyfish at Jellyfish Lake; and a land tour and a couple dives off the invasion beach at Peliliu.

Next planned return to Micronesia - December 2017

Munising, MI Ride and Dive 2014

July 31st through August 3rd, 2014 there were a handful of people that participated in the MSD Ride and Dive trip. The group used Thursday as a travel day, then dived a total of 4 wrecks (Steven Selvick, Manhattan, Smith Moore, and the Bermuda). Saturday afternoon the group took the bikes up to Grand Marais, MI and on the way back they stopped at Pictured Rock National Shoreline. Sunday was used as another travel day to get back. The group had great weather, hit some rain on the way back home. The rain just adds to the memories from the past weekend. MSD will chalk this trip up as another fun and enjoyable trip organized by Todd.
